Structured, tailored approach, agility standard

The Illutas approach is focused on the delivery of tangible and immediate results. The customers challenges and objectives are reviewed and defined together in a first, free, discussion, based upon which the appropriate solution approach is configured.

Illutas provides a number of different methodology, planning and tooling components, that can be combined into a customised approach for each customer.

Approach components

Focus areas and objectives

The business areas, that need to be improved, are defined to enable a focused approach. These areas, and the associated objectives and targets, determine which analysis approach is most suited to deliver results, as well as the execution prioritisation and planning of the delivery packages. For this we use a straightforward analysis structure:

Customer: the focus is on customers and markets. Themes can be market expansion, market entry, product and services digitalisation, customer journey and experience improvement etc.

Chain: the focus is on the complete value chain. Themes are collaboration, integration, master data management, process efficiency etc.

Company: here the focus is internal. Themes are organisational alignment, finance and budget management, costs benchmarking, capability analysis etc.

Analysis areas

To ensure that the right stakeholders and remits are considered, one or more analysis areas are defined following the focus areas and target definition.

Management & Strategy: company and IT strategy, financial management, supplier management, management processes.

Processes, architecture & standards: process support and enablement, data and information management, security, standards and audits.

IT change management: portfolio and project management processes, service and incident management,

IT organisation and partner: IT organisational structure, capabilities and capacity, delivery methods, partnerships and partner performance.

Frameworks and approaches are standardised analysis methods, that create a certain structured view of a problem area. They allow an expedited high quality diagnosis and the rapid definition of a solution approach.

The frameworks operate at different levels and in different areas, but can be combined to create an encompassing view of the organisation.

Illutas uses several leading and in-house developed frameworks. To facilitate and accelerate the analysis processes, these frameworks are, wherever possible preconfigured per industry.

The right (combination of) frameworks is determined depending on the focus areas, objectives and analysis areas.

Agility and planning

Volatile circumstances demand a flexible approach to planning and prioritisation of projects. This flexibility is delivered through our agile working methods.

Delivery packages are defined at the start of the project, based on targets and framework. Each package has a defined scope, deliverables and success criteria and takes normally about 2 weeks to deliver. After successful accepted delivery, the next packages are re-evaluated on priority, scope and dependencies and adjusted where and when necessary. This ensures not only the flexibility of the planning, but also the delivery of results.

This agile delivery method allows continuing performance management and can be fitted into almost all customer-specific deliver approach.

During the analysis phase, a lot of information "nuggets", such as strategies, targets, capabilities and business objects, are captured. All this information should be analysed and correlated to be able to create a complete diagnostic picture.

To accelerate and improve this analysis process, all analysis information is captured in a central enterprise architecture platform by QualiWare, allowing for broad as well as deep analysis and reporting. The resulting actions, solutions, plans and roadmaps are also depicted on the same platform, which in turn can be tracked and managed in a transparent fashion.

Our customers have access to this platform, where they can view, comment, change and approve deliverables.
